Industry figures to hold networking event for black mortgage professionals

Atlyn Forde, head of inclusion and engagement at Pepper Money and chief executive of diversity and inclusion (D&I) consultancy Communicate Inclusively, has launched a networking event for black professionals in the mortgage sector and allies.

It is also being organised by Aleka Gutzmore, financial wellbeing, mortgage and protection adviser at MoneySprite, and Jeffrey Krampah-Williams, national key account manager for Santander.

The free inaugural event will be held on 28 October at Nationwide, 1 Threadneedle Street, London, EC2R 8AY, from 5.30pm to 8.30pm, and coincides with Black History Month.

Pepper Money and Nationwide have been confirmed as sponsors.

It has been created to “promote connection, empowerment, and inclusion”, and will allow black professionals in the mortgage and financial services sector to meet their peers, learn how to effectively network and hear the experiences of industry leaders.

Attendees will also be given insight on how to further their careers and navigate the profession.

Forde said: “We created this event to provide Black professionals in the mortgage market and their allies with a dedicated space to connect, share experiences, and support one another.

“Networking is a powerful tool for career advancement, but it can also be a source of empowerment, particularly in industries where diversity and inclusion still have room to grow. This event is not just about meeting new people, it’s about building a community where everyone can thrive.”

They added: “By attending, you’re not only expanding your network, but you’re also contributing to a more inclusive and supportive industry for future generations.”

The event is free, with limited spaces.
