Mansfield Building Society has appointed Claire Flanagan (pictured) as its business development manager (BDM) for the South.

She joins Mansfield Building Society from Quantum Mortgages, where she was a BDM for around a year. Before that, she was a BDM at Uinsure for nearly four years.

Prior to that, Flanagan worked at Unum for almost five years, most recently as a business development consultant and, before that, as a sales executive.

Flanagan previously worked at Fidelity Worldwide Investment for nearly a year, spent nearly four years at Nationwide Building Society and also worked at Capita Life and Pensions.

Tom Denman-Molloy, Mansfield Building Society’s intermediary sales manager, said: “Bringing someone in with the calibre of Claire is a testament to Mansfield being seen by more and more brokers as one of the leading smaller building societies offering truly innovative solutions for borrowers.

“The South of England is an area where we see our products becoming increasingly more popular, and so I am sure Claire will help the society grow its footprint in the area.”

Flanagan added: “Having covered the South of England in previous intermediary sales roles, I have built a strong network of broker relationships and look forward to seeing many of the coming weeks and months.

“I’m very excited to have joined the team at Mansfield, and with their unique Versatility range, their ability to help many potential borrowers who don’t fit the criteria of mainstream lenders is an area of huge potential. I look forward to spreading the word.”

Mansfield Building Society has been improving its proposition in recent months, offering a product transfer procuration fee, updating its lending policy to include 10-storey flats, improving its expat buy-to-let (BTL) policy and launching into the Scottish BTL market.
