Specialist lender RAW Capital Partners has appointed Mark Stevens (pictured) as its head of credit.

In his role as credit head, he will look to “optimise processes, develop the teams by helping them to better understand and mitigate risks associated with the business, and contribute to the firm’s product development”.

Stevens joins the firm from Northern Trust where he worked for around three years where he was vice president.

Prior to that he was manager at EFG Guernsey for around two years and before that, head of credit operations for more than a year.

Stevens was previously at Butterfield Bank for nearly 24 years in various senior roles including head of private banking, head of marketing and business development and head of lending services.

Ben Nichols, interim managing director of RAW3Capital Partners, said: “I’m pleased to welcome Mark to the team. It’s an exciting time for the business, and I’m sure that his extensive experience and expertise in credit risk management will be invaluable as we continue to grow and enhance our service offerings. I’m excited to see how our products and teams develop under his leadership.”

Stevens added: “I’m excited to join a smaller, dynamic team with big ambitions in a growing environment. The speed and flexibility of RAW Capital Partners’ service offerings were key attributes that attracted me to the role, and I look forward to contributing my experience to the business.

“In a smaller organisation, I believe I can add significant value and help grow the business, taking advantage of the flexibility to make quick decisions free from the complexities often faced by larger banks and financial institutions.”

The company has been growing its team, bringing on Victoria Smallman as head of risk and compliance.
