YBS Commercial has appointed Angela Norman as its interim managing director, with Mike Davies taking on the role of interim head of lending.
Norman takes over from Tom Simpson, who will take on the role of interim chief commercial officer for Yorkshire Building Society. The latter role covers all brands including Yorkshire Building Society, Accord and YBS Commercial Mortgages.
Norman was most recently head of lending at YBS Commercial and joined the mutual from Recognise Bank, where she worked for around four years as director of lending strategy and propositions.
Prior to that, she was head of customer, product and proposition at Revverbank for around a year, and was previously an adviser at Winning Pitch for around two years.
Davies takes over from Norman as the interim head of lending at YBS Commercial, moving from his current role as head of business development.
He has been with the firm for around five years, and before that, he was the regional development director for Together.
Before that, he worked at Santander for around five years, most recently as the head of sector proposition.
Norman said: “I’m absolutely delighted to be given the opportunity to play an even bigger role in driving the YBS Commercial business forward. It’s an exciting point in our growth journey, and I’ve been blown away with the team’s determination and commitment to deliver for our brokers and customers.
“A key priority since I’ve been with the business has been to focus on enhancing the customer journey, listening to and acting on crucial feedback from brokers and colleagues. We remain committed to making changes to how we operate to create better customer experiences, as well as offering a strong alternative to the big banks with our experienced teams on the ground and purposeful propositions, which support local businesses and their communities.
“I’m looking forward to leading this fantastic team, growing the workforce and driving the business forward to deliver our ambitious growth plans.”
Davies added: “I’m looking forward to working more closely with Angela and our regional teams. I believe that bringing our business development and relationship teams together creates a more joined-up approach and will ensure that we are set up to provide an even better service for our brokers and clients.”
