Yorkshire Building Society has teamed up with Uinsure to widen access to its home insurance products and has also waived commission for referrals.
The firm said it had selected Uinsure – which works with a panel of insurers to automatically generate customers’ home insurance quotes – to widen access to home insurance deals and make quotes more competitive.
The home insurance quotes can be accessed through the mutual’s website and the process takes minutes.
Yorkshire Building Society said no commission will be charged for referrals and savings will be passed directly back to customers, so customers can get the “best possible price available”.
The mutual said nearly a quarter of Brits don’t have building or contents insurance, with around fifth within this figure saying they didn’t need it.
Nearly a third said it was too expensive, 15% felt they had nothing of value and 10% said their home was well-protected so insurance was not needed.

While two-thirds said they had reviewed their policy in the last year, around 26% said they would only review their policy every two years or more.
